This tool is intended for you to check if your loudspeakers are powerful enough for the desired application. You will need your loudspeaker data sheet to find the required information.

1.) Insert the sensitivity of the loudspeaker. This will be given as a figure in decibels 1 Watt, 1 metre.
2.) Insert the maximum power handling of the loudspeaker in Watts.
3.) Insert the distance you wish the loudspeaker to throw in metres. Remember this is to the height of people’s ears, not necessarily to the floor.
4.) Insert the desired listening level in decibels.
5.) Click calculate.

The calculator will tell you if the loudspeaker is capable of the job or if attempting to reach that level will overload it.
